Megghun Redmon
Megghun started at Suicide Prevention Services in 2011 as a BSW intern from Aurora University. She continued her career at SPS as the Administrative Assistant, and, when she received her MSW from AU, she became the Coordinator of Services. During her master’s year of college, Megghun interned with Mutual Ground and received the 60-hour Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Certification. Her work experience has always been people oriented having worked in the medical field before attending college.
Megghun enjoys working with all ages and specializes in working with adolescents and children. She has a special interest in working with individuals living with special needs. She leads the school- based therapy groups, as well as the Survivors of Suicide Youth Group. Megghun has received some training in play therapy and utilizes these skills when with her clients; eventually, her goal is to become certified in Theraplay. Megghun specializes in working with clients who are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and self-injury. She has worked with adolescents and children who have had a loved one die by suicide.
In Megghun’s free time she enjoys reading books at home with her two cats and knitting.
