* REFUND POLICY:
SPS is able to provide a full refund, less a $25 administrative fee, for requests made up to one week prior to the ASIST workshop.
For requests made after one week prior to the workshop, and up to 9am the first day of the workshop, SPS will issue a credit toward a future ASIST workshop held within six months, less a $50 meal and administrative fee. All requests made after 9am the first day of the workshop cannot be honored due to the content of the workshop.​

ASIST TRAINER, Steven Binns
Steven Binns is currently a researcher at the Institute for Health Research and Policy with the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). In 2013 he received his Master’s in Public Health from UIC. Before he began his Master’s program, however, Steven worked with Suicide Prevention Services (SPS) for 4 years as Coordinator of Volunteers. As such, he helped with all duties and responsibilities related to the SPS call center, including co-facilitation of ASIST workshops. Steven is passionate about the wellbeing of our mental health systems and the social networks of our communities. Within this field, his interests include Faith and Public Health collaboration, suicide prevention/intervention, and mental health advocacy.
