The first Colonial Cares event of 2012 happens on Tuesday, February 7 beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the St. Charles-East Colonial Cafe, 1625 E. Main Street (Route 64 & Tyler Road) in St. Charles, Illinois.
Colonial Cafe, a long-time SPS supporter and advocate, created the Colonial Cares Benefit Night fundraising program to unite families, friends, neighbors, students and faculty for a night out that includes a tasty dinner and Colonial’s legendary ice cream desserts. A portion of the evening’s sales will be contributed to Suicide Prevention Services of America to support our mission to open minds, save lives and restore hope.

To start the brand new year off in the best light, we’ve created a video. The instructions were: send a photo of yourself with a note of what you are happy and/or hopeful about. The results were amazing. Thank you to all who participated, and a very special thank you to super volunteer Jen Slepicka for coordinating and producing this inspiring message.
Click here to view to the video now.
Cheers to an amazing 2012! Hope, Light, and Peace to All. |

In a Word: “Fabulous”
“Fabulous!” That was the word used by SPS Executive Director Stephanie Weber to describe yesterday’s Here for Life! Walks in St. Charles and Rockford, Illinois.
Hundreds of walkers participated in the events to advance the cause for suicide prevention in our communities and to remember loved ones who died by suicide.
A big “Thank You!” goes to all who walked and supported the events, and to the dozens of event volunteers led by Sara Harms and Shannon Messer. A big shout out goes to event sponsors for the St. Charles and Rockford events.
